This complex work by fine artist Santiago Caruso can be seen both as portrait and collage. The component parts of the gun barrel, pills, syringes and chalk outlines combine with the gluttonous imagery of the pig to create an abstract anthropomorphic representation of crime. The addition of the police badge as a stamp on the side of the head could suggest the laws submissive and helpless status due to the scale or could suggest that the law has in some way been corrupted and therefore now forms part of the criminal artifacts of the composition. This is overall a dark, brooding and intensely symbolic piece by Caruso which begs further investigation with every viewing.
